Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury said the government has undertaken a project of Taka 10.60 crore aimed at supplying riper and rice planter to farmers free of cost in Haor areas.
“The government has decided to introduce modern technology for quick harvesting and reducing risk of farmers in Haor areas,” she said while addressing a press briefing in her ministry conference room at Bangladesh Secretariat.
The minister said the government is committed to providing all out support to Haor farmers for minimizing their sufferings in the Boro paddy cultivation season.
The government would supply 275 riper, one riper in each union and 100 rice planter, one for three unions, under the programme.
