Awami League on Sunday questioned the authenticity of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s claim that BNP candidates will get 80 percent votes in the December-30 municipal election.
“Where did she (Khaleda) get such type of findings from? There might be a survey by Pakistan intelligence agency…now she follows their (Pak) direction,” said Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif.
The ruling Awami League leader said this while addressing a press conference at Awami League president’s Dhanmondi political office in the city.
Hanif said, “We would like to say it’s not possible for you (Khaleda) to win votes as per the Pak intelligence agency’s survey. People wouldn’t cast vote for BNP for its past misdeeds.”
