Gowainghat thana in Sylhet district on Sunday at around 2:30 pm recovered the hanging body of a police officer from the police quarter.
The deceased was identified as Sudip Barua (45) ASI of Gowainghat thana police and son of Barendra Lal Barua from Sonaichhari village in Rangunia Upazila of Chattogram district.
The OC of Gowainghat thana Abdul Jalil confirm the death of Sudip Barua told reporters that the dead body would be sent to the hospital for autopsy.
“Sudip Barua came to office in the morning. Later we found his body hanging with the grill of the window in police compound, ” OC said.
Sudip left three children. One of the daughters is student of a Medical College, another one studying honours at Chittagong University and the only son is a student of Navy School in Chattogram.
