Dr Md Hamid Ullah Bhuiyan, a Professor at the Department of Accounting & Information Systems of the University of Dhaka has joined the Financial Reporting Council as chairman for the next four years.
The post of the chairman of the auditing watchdog FRC remained vacant for the past few months after the expiry of tenure of its first chairman Mustaque. The government enacted FRC act in 2015 to regulate auditors as they are often blamed for cooking financial statements of companies.
