Shahid Hamid, FIH, Chairman, PATA Bangladesh Chapter and Executive Director, Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort has been elected Member of PATA Board of Directors for two years in the 63rd PATA Annual General Meeting held Sunday at Zhuhai, China.
This election is of great importance and prestige for Bangladesh as the country will be able to participate for the first time in the meetings of PATA Board for the year 2014-2016.
PATA is an international Tourism Organization, nonprofit in nature, and is an authority on Travel Tourism in the Asia Pacific Region. Currently this organization consists of 80 sovereign states, travel industries from around Asia Pacific Region and beyond.
There are 43 PATA National Chapters around the world including Bangladesh. PATA, as a catalyst International Organization, is devoted to promote growth and development of responsible, sustainable and eco-tourism.
Shahid Hamid is a well-known hotelier of Bangladesh with extensive experience in planning, execution, management and operation of International Hotels gained at home and abroad and his election is a due recognition of his long association with the PATA Bangladesh Chapter which he served as a General Secretary in an honorary capacity for 20 years.
