UNB, Dhaka :BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday night said they made a mistake by halting their anti-government movement just after the January- 5 election.”It was our wrong decision to stop the movement after the January-5 election,” a BNP join secretary general quoted khaleda as telling a meeting she held with her party’s vice-chairmen and joint secretaries at her Gulshan office. He said Khaleda made the remark as some of her party leaders said that the current regime has become confident that it will be able to hang onto power without giving any election as BNP has failed to mount pressure on it for a fresh election by stopping its movement after the January-5 election. The BNP chairperson also said their decision to join the 2008 general election was wrong, too, and lamented that no senior leader at that time did oppose this flawed move. The BNP chairperson urged the senior party leaders to remain alert so that the party does not repeat such mistakes in the future.Khaleda told her party senior leaders that they will wage a decisive movement very soon after reorganising the party, and also asked them to work sincerely and play a strong role from their respecting positions to make the movement a success this time.
