Chittagong, July 9 (UNB) – Divers of the Fire Service and Civil Defense recovered the bodies of three people from the Halda River on Saturday morning, 24 hours after a boat carrying them capsized in Suabil of Fatikchhari upazila. The deceased were identified as Nurul Islam, 45, son of late Bajal Ahmed of Purba Suabil village, Rijvi, 15, son of M Hanif, and Emon, 18, son of M Rubel. Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense of Chittagong Kamaluddin Bhuiyan said a group of divers recovered the bodies from the river around 10am. Earlier on Friday morning, a boat with an unspecified number of passengers on board capsized in the Haldar due to excessive load and strong current. However, all but five passengers managed to swim ashore, said Officer-in-charge of Fatikchhari Police Station M Abu Yusuf Miah.
