Hajj activities from Pahartali camp demanded

Hajj Pilgrims Welfare Council(HPWC) demanded introduction of Chittagong-Jeddah flight for the pilgrims of Chittagong division from the existing Haji camp of Pahartali in city rather Dhaka Ashekona Haji camp.
The views was expressed at the meeting of the HPWC held on Friday last at Hotel Paramount International conference hall with its President Ahmedul Islam Chowdhury in the chair. Secretary General of the HPWC Principal Dr. Abdul Karim delivered welcome address in the meeting as chief guest. The council also demanded re-commissioning of 60 years old Chittagong(Pahartali) Haji camp in the city for the pilgrims of Chittagong division. At the meeting of HPWC said the pilgrims used to face utter miseries to board the Hajj flight from Dhaka. The pilgrims from rural areas of the division are compelled to reach Dhaka either by rail or road which is most difficult for the elderly and illiterate people. Moreover maximum pilgrims from Chittagong zone are elderly aged and they have to suffer miseries and uncomfortable by road journey to Dhaka. It said govt can easily resolved the sufferings of pilgrims of greater Chittagong if Chittagong-Jeddah flight as per requirements is introduced.
The speakers also set example of the neighbouring countries of India and Pakistan for using numbers of airports for hajj pilgrims rather capital city of New delhi , Islamabad.
The meeting also added that hajj flights are also being operated even from Kolkata and Guhati of India also. The speakers also opined that abandoned Hajicamp of Pahartali may be re-commissioned through installing divisional hajj office and hajj camp.
The meeting was told that Chittagong shah Amanat International Airport can easily handle bulk hajj flights as it operating several international flights of foreign airlines as well as Biman airlines from Chittagong.

Faizullah , Shahabzada Kaiser Mirza, Humayun Kader Khan Kashru, Miah Ashraf Hossain, Kamal uddin Ahmed Miah, Adv. Nurul amin chowdhury, Md. Jamiruddin Chowdhury, Dr. Saleh Jahangir, Kazi Sihabuddin, Prof. Abul Kalam Azad, Adv. Kazi Md. Ashraful Hoque, Dr. Md.Iftikharuddin Chowdhury, Dr. Md. Ismail Chowdhury, Md. Alauddin Bhuyia, Alhaj Nurul Alam, Dr. Md. Shariful Kabir, Dr. Akhtar Hossain and Dr. Jamaluddin spoke on the occasion duly conducted by Dr. Saleh Ahmed Suleman, a HPWC sources said. Mentionable that Hajj Training workshop will be arranged at Zilla Parishad Hall through multimedia projections on July 23 next from 9 am under the auspices of HPWC.
The aspirant pilgrims have been requested to attend the workshop on Hajj in time.
