M M Jasim :
The Hajis are facing severe problems due to schedule disorder of return hajj flights. The schedule disorder started from Monday-the first day of the flight.
Hundreds of pilgrims waited at Jeddah Airport for 10 to 12 hours to get the flight. They alleged that the mismanagement of the officials made the problems.
The officials of the Biman told the media that they had no idea about when the schedule disorder would be stopped.
They blamed the Muallems (attendants) for such sufferings and said that the Muallems failed to bring the pilgrims in the airport in time.
Abu Taher, Country Manger of Bangladesh Biman in Jeddah said that 22 Muallems failed to bring the Hajis in the airport in time causing schedule disorder. He said that flight schedule disorder is related to the first disorder. “I do not know when it will be normal,” he said.
Sources said that all the flights were late to fly. At least 12 return hajj flights left the Jeddah Airport. But no flight came to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on time.
On Wednesday, four return Hajj flights came to Dhaka with severe sufferings of the Hajis as no flight flew on time.
On Tuesday, the sufferings of the Hajis mounted, as they had to wait for each flight for nine to 10 hours. Some of them did not carry their luggages due to the mismanagement of the Ravel Cargo Service authorities. The officials of the Ravel Cargo failed to bring the luggages of the Hajis in the airport in time. As a result, hundreds of Hajis came to Dhaka without their luggages.
Abu Taher, Country Manger of Bangladesh Biman in Jeddah said that they did not appoint any officials of Ravel Cargo. The main branch of Biman in Dhaka appointed the officials.
On Monday, a good number of Hajis passed their times with many problems due to the delay of the flights. Even no officials of the Biman were present at Jeddah Airport. The Hajis said that they did not expect such behaviour from the authorities.
Md Abdul Mannan, a Haji, told The New Nation yesterday that he had to wait Jeddah Airport at least 10 hours. He also failed to bring his luggage due to delay of the Ravel Cargo and mismanagement of the Biman authorities.
Sharif Uddin, a relative of a Haji, said that he waited at HSIA for nine hours as his uncle was supposed to arrive at 4am, but he arrived at 12pm.
Md Khalek, another Haji, told this correspondent that their sufferings were tremendous. No one helped them. They searched the Bangladesh Biman officials at Jeddah Airport, but they did not get any of them. He also said that it would be difficult to perform Hajj for the Hajis if the same situation continues.
