Jamai Shasthi is a festival of Bengal and it depicts the beautiful relationship of son-in-law with his in laws. The title Jamai means son-in-law and Shasthi means the sixth day of Shukla Poksho, according to the Hindu calendar. This is the day when a party is organised by the in-laws and they invite over their daughter and her husband. On June 16 (Ashar 1), noted fashion designer Biplob Saha’s Bishwo Rang organises Sera Jamai Juddho.
Under the planning of Biplob Saha, on the occasion of Jamai Shasthi, for the first time a song has been composed by Ujjal Sinha. Haimanti Rakshit Das lent her voice for the song. Recording of the song was done on Wednesday evening. Haimanti’s husband Ashim Das was also present during recording. While talking about the song Biplob Saha said, “We welcome Haimanti in the house of Bishwo Rang. I believe for the first time Haimanti’s attachment will be on the occasion of Jamai Shasthi with a song. She rendered the song well. I hope everybody enjoys the song, which fashion video will be released on YouTube channel of Fashion Club of Bishwo Rang.”
Haimanti shared her feelings by this way, “For the first time, I rendered an original song on the occasion of Jamai Shasthi. I really liked lyrics and tunes of the song. As it was a festival centric song so, I rendered it with liking.”
