When she was studying in Class V Haimanti Rakshit’s first solo album titled Dakpeon was released. Till now she has six albums in the markets. The listeners who heard her music surely impressed. It was also happened in case of noted late filmmaker Chashi Nazrul Islam. As a result, Chashi Nazrul decided to give Haimanti a scope to render a song titled Ami eto sukhi hobo, which lyrics was written by Munshi Wadud and music was composed by Sheikh Sadi Khan, in his movie Kothai Achho Kemon Achho. Till now it was Haimanti’s last play-back song. Later she could not get the chance to give her voice for any play-back song.
In last Eid, under Prince Mahmud’s lyrics and music composition Haimanti rendered two songs of her sixth solo album titled Prothom Prem were available on Youtube. Her beautiful rendering style impressed the listeners.
On the occasion of coming Eid, Haimanti is coming with a new song. While talking in this regard she told this correspondent, “I am always choosy about music. For this reason, I always prefer to step forward silently. If anybody likes my song, that will be my achievement as a singer. I am a die-hearted singer. Music is my devotion, my passion. To step forward in the field of music I want everybody’s cooperation. I want to establish myself as a ‘pure singer.”
During childhood Haimanti got training from Ustad Bani Kumar Chowdhury. In classical music, she got lessons from Ustad Nirod Boron Barua. She first gave her voice for play-back in Shah Alam Kiron directed movie Sajghor under Emon Saha’s music composition. Till now she contributed her voice for play-backs in 15 movies.
