Rains with gusty wind and hailstorm struck the capital Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon giving a message of the arrival of Boishakh, first month of Bangla New Year.
The rains brought a blessing for the city residents, some respite from the hot weather. The storm blew for half an hour. The residents got relief from dust. In the dusty city for some time the city dwellers got fresh air.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said on Wednesday, with rain thunderstorms may occur with temporary gusty wind in Rangpur, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. Temporary dry weather with partly cloudy sky may prevail during the next 24 hours in other parts of the country.
The weather office said that day and night temperature may rise slightly across the country. Today (Wednesday), the relative humidity of the air was 75 percent in Dhaka at 6:00 am.
In the summary of the weather picture, it has been said that the elongation of the area is situated in the areas of Gangetic West Bengal and adjacent areas.
