Hailstorms caused huge damage to crops and houses on Friday afternoon over the whole Nilphamari district. Due to nor’wester, raw bricks were melted and buds of mango fallen causing massive damage of the mango trees. The whole district has sustained a huge loss due to rain and thunderstorms.
In the village areas, there is was widespread damage of the houses including vegetables like maize, chilli, onion, patal with the boro fields. Due to the rain with thunderstorm, the raw brick melted in the water.
For this, the owners suffered huge losses. Many roofs of the houses made of tin were damaged in the hailstorm.
Saidpur Upazila Nitbahi Officer (UNO) Bazlur Rashid said, he visited the damaged area. According to the instruction of the Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Khaled Rahim , a list of affected persons will be prepared with the acurate information.
