Mohammad Hafeez, the Pakistan allrounder, has been cleared to resume bowling in international cricket after his action was found to be legal by the International Cricket Council on Tuesday (April 21).
Hafeez’s action was reported as suspect during the first Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi in November 2014 and confirmed as illegal by biomechanical analysis in England. He had hoped to undergo a re-test in February to get himself cleared to play in the World Cup, but a calf injury meant he was ruled out of the tournament.
Javeria Khan, Pakistan Women allrounder, was also cleared in a test at the ICC-accredited facility in Chennai on April 9 alongside Hafeez.
Javeria was reported after the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 2010 match against Sri Lanka in St Kitts and had failed the initial test, which was performed in June that year.
