The election of Khulna Press Club was held on Thursday. Some 116 voters out of 120 cast their votes in the election.
Khulna Divisional Chief of ATN Bangla SM Habib was elected President while Md. Saheb Ali of Senior Staff Reporter of local Bangla Daily Purbanchal was elected General Secretary in the polls.
Special Correspondent of The Daily Purbanchal was elected Treasurer in the election.
Eleven candidates including President, general secretary were elected on Thursday’s election and the rest 8 candidates were elected unopposed earlier.
Other elected candidates are- Vice President ( Local) Amiyo Kanti Pal, Chief Reporter of Daily Purbanchal, Vice President (Dhaka) Md. Rashidul Islam, Staff Reporter of Daily Manobjamin, Vice President (Editor) Md. Tariqul Islam, editor of local Daily Shomoiyer Khabor, joint secretary Anwarul Islam Kajol, Chief Photographer of Daily Purbanchal, assistant secretary (local) MA Jalil, staff Reporter of Daily Khulnanchal and Sheikh Mahmud Hasan Sohel, Staff Reporter of daily Purbanchal, assistant secretary (Dhaka) Mahbubur Rahman Munna, Bureau Chief of Bangla News 24, Executive Member (Editors) Md. Farid Hossain of Weekly Satyer Sandhaney, Mostafa Sarwar of daily Probartan and SM Sahid Hossain of daily Dakkhinanchal Protidin, executive members- Mostofa Zamal Poplu of Masranga TV, Hasan Ahmed Molla , Chief Reporter of Weekly Amader Khulna, Sohrab Hossain, Chief Reporter od Daily Janmobhumi, and SM Farid Rana, Staff Reporter of Daily Tathya.
During the KPC election, M. Zaved Iqbal, Khulna Divisional Deputy Chief Information Officer was present as Chief of the election conducting committee while Md. Mehedi Hasan, deputy Director of Khulna PID and Mainuddin Ahmed, Information officer of Khulna PID were present as members.
