HAAB (Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh) Democratic United Front on Saturday urged the government to extend the registration period for the pilgrims intend to perform Hajj this year till May 30 instead of March 30.
It also sought Prime Minister’s interference to increase the quota for Bangladeshi pilgrims at least 50,000 more than the quota already allocated for the country.
The demands were raised at a press conference held at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity auditorium in the city.
Front panel Chief Abdus Sobhan Bhuiyan Hasan read out the written speech of the front while panel member and Bangladesh Pilgrims and Hajji Welfare Council President Abdullah Al Naser, HAAB Coordination Council convener Ruhul Amin Mintu, former HAAB Secretary Generals Yakub Sharafati and Rashid Shah Samrat, Tajul Islam and Mahbubur Rahman also attended.
