Welsh rhythmic gymnast Frankie Jones has secured her country’s first gold of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
She won the individual ribbon final to add to the three silvers she secured in the morning session of day three.
Jones, 23, was second in the individual hoop final as well as the clubs event, also claiming silver in the individual ball final, ahead of compatriot Laura Halford in third.
Gymnasts have won eight of the 11 medals won by Wales so far.
Jones has won five of them on her own, having won silver in the individual all-around finals on day two.
She also won a team silver on day one.
Away from the gymnastics, judoka Natalie Powell faces England’s Gemma Gibbons in the women’s -78kg final on Saturday evening.
Team-mate Mark Shaw takes on Sam Rosser of New Zealand in the men’s +100kg bronze medal match.
Welsh weightlifter Michaela Breeze will compete on Saturday in her last event before retirement.
The 35-year-old is aiming to win a third Commonwealth Games gold to add to those won in 2002 and 2006.
Breeze is competing in the 58kg category, alongside her pupil and ex-sprinter Christie Williams, who only took up the sport 18 months ago.
At the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Sam Harrison is through to the evening’s points race semi-finals.
Matt Ellis and pilot Ieuan Williams will take part in Para-cycling’s tandem sprint, hoping to add a second medal to the bronze they won on Friday.

In the evening, swimmer Georgia Davies competes in the 100m backstroke final, having qualified second fastest, breaking the Welsh record, in a time of 59.63 seconds.

Alys Thomas in the 50m butterfly and Calum Jarvis and Otto Putland in the 100m freestyle also qualified for the semi-finals.
