UNB, Dhaka :Police recovered gunpowder and sulphur from Lalmatia area of the city following confessional statement of a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader on Monday night.Earlier, police arrested the JCD leader, Mahiuddin Ahmed Razib,30, son of Mokhlesur Rahman Manju, a resident of 70/B Haji Afsaruddin Road of Hazaribagh and secretary of the city ward No-15 unit JCD, from Beribandh area of Hazaribagh on Sunday night.Later, the law enforcers produced him before a court and the court placed him on a two-day remand in an arms case.According to Razib’s confessional statement, a team of police conducted a drive in Lalmatia area and recovered 900 grams of gunpowder and 600 grams of sulphur on Monday night. Officer-in-charge of Hazaribagh Police Station Mainul Islam confirmed the matter.
