A terrible gun fight took place between RAB-8 and forest robbers gang- Sumon Bahini at Andhermanik Canal of East Sundarban on Thursday evening.
At this time, three fire arms , twenty four rounds live bullets and four sharp weapons were recovered from the spot.
Commander of RAB-8 Lt. Col Anwar-Uj-Jaman told the newsmen that getting information of staying the robbers with the abducted fishermen at Andhermanik Canal area, members of RAB launched an operation on the adjacent area. Sensing the presence of RAB ,they started firing targeting the RAB members.RAB also started counter firing. After an hour long fighting , the forest robbers tried to flee away .But RAB members managed to arrest Mintu Gazi (23), son of Mannan Gazi of Chadnimukhi village of Shamnagar Thana under Shatkhira District and Abul Hosen Dhali (32) son of late Tofa Shaikh of Siky Sonailtala village of Mongla. At this time ,RAb recovered a two barrel gun , a one barrel gun , a shooter gun and 24 live bullets, sharp weapons, mobile phone and some token that is used for collecting monthly extortion . They were handed over to Mongla Thana along with arms.
