The biennial election of Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association is scheduled to be held today at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC). Members of the association will cast their votes from 9:00am to 1:00pm and from 2:00pm to 5:00pm today.
A total of 42 candidates including 4 independent candidates will contest for 19 posts in this year’s election. Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar and Badol Khondoker will contest for the post of President in the election. Badiul Alam Khokon will contest under Gulzar’s panel for the post of Secretary General while Bazlur Rashid Chowdhury will contest under Badol’s panel. Therefore, Safiuddin Safi will also contest for this post as independently.
Several candidates have been seeing visiting the FDC regularly. The candidates are campaign in front of the BFDC canteen and Directors’ Association. In addition to the campaigning candidates, voters are also present in the rallies.
In this year’s election, 361 directors will be casting their votes. The winners will take charge of the Film Director’s Association for the year 2019-2020 after the election.
