Club Cup Rugby: Gulshan face Flame Boys in opener today

Gulshan Rugby Club will face Flame Boys Club in the opening match of the Bamboo Castle Club Cup Rugby Competition at the Physical Education College Ground in Mohammadpur today. The match kicks-off at 10.00 am.
To mark the ensuing rugby meet, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday. General Secretary of Bangladesh Rugby Federation (BRF) Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of BRF Sayeed Ahmed, Director of Capital Confectionary Md Bashir, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Mojibur Rahman and Member of the Federation Parvin Putul were present at the conference.
Bangladesh Rugby Federation will arrange the rugby meet with the financial assistance of Capital Confectionary.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups will take part in the three-day long rugby meet. Old DOHS Club, Azad Sporting Club, Rajdhani Rugby Club, Jatrabari Krira Chakra are in Group A while Gulshan Rugby Club, Victoria Sporting Club, Flame Boys Rugby Club, Old Dhaka Rugby Club are in Group B.
Top team from each group will get tickets of the final. The final will be held on June 1.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk 1,05,000 while Capital Confectionary, the sponsor of the meet has given Tk 80,000 to BRF and BRF will bear rest of the expenditure from its own fund.
