Guideline for dev of women-children stressed

Information Secretary Martuza Ahmed on Wednesday emphasized preparing a guideline for the development of women and children in the country.
“We have to prepare a guideline keeping the SDG in mind. That guideline would be a pragmatic one. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been awarded for MDG achievement, so we have to change our attitude towards women and children. We have to ensure their participation in all kinds of activities,” the secretary said.
Martuza came up with these observations while addressing the inaugural session of “Review and Planning Workshop-2016” at the National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC) in the capital.
Organized under the project “Advocacy and Communication for Children and Women (4th Phase)” the workshop was presided over by NIMC director general Mohammad Nurul Islam.
It was also addressed by National Director of the project and Additional Secretary (development) of the Ministry of Information Saraf Uddin Ahmed, Neha Kapil, chief of C4D Section of UNICEF Bangladesh and its chief of CAP Section Shima Islam, among others.
“Now in the era of excellence in communication, we have become citizens of a global village. We have to utilize new media like internet, social networking sites for ensuring the rights of women and children. We have to make a five-year plan in this regard,” Martuza added.
Saraf Uddin Ahmed too highlighted the need for a positive and realistic guideline for the wellbeing of women and children. A total of 36 people are participating in the workshop. Information Secretary inaugurated another workshop on E-Filing at NIMC this morning.
While inaugurating the practicum, Martuza Ahmed for bringing accountability and transparency in the official work, E-Filing can become very handy.
