A security guard of a Christian missionary school was stabbed to death allegedly by thief at Auliapurkur in Sadar upazila early Thursday. The deceased was identified as Shibu Soren 32, a security guard of Auliapukur Missionary and School and son of late Laxman Soren of Kasba area. Quoting locals, police said a thief broke into the missionary around 12 pm.
Shibu sensed the presence of the thief and caught him. In his bid to escape, the thief stabbed the guard indiscriminately, leaving Shibu injured. Later, locals rescued the guard and took him to DinajpurMedicalCollegeHospital where the doctors declared him dead. Redwanur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said police sent the body to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
