In a great tragedy, a young man has died of heart attack hours after the death of his wife who drowned in a pond of Bamnishair village in Debidwar upazila.
The deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain, 28, son of Mokhlesur Rahman of the village, and his wife Rifa Akter, 24.
Rifa fell into water as she had an epileptic fit while talking to Anwar, a garment worker living in Dhaka, over phone sitting on the pond ghat near their house on Monday evening, said family sources.
Doctors declared her dead after she was taken to the Upazila Health Complex, they said.
Hearing the news of his wife’s death, Anwar started for home from Dhaka. He collapsed on the ground around 3am on Tuesday as he reached near his house.
