Broiler price decreased slightly: Rice price nearly unchanged

The sudden price hike of green chilli in the city markets has raised woes of the consumers. The price of green chilli slightly decreased on Friday and was selling at Tk 200 per kg in retail markets.
On Thursday, the green chilli was sold between Tk 260 and 300 per kg in city markets, while the price was Tk 100 to 120 per kg in the last week.
The retail traders said the local production of green chilli was damaged in recent floods in different districts. They sold imported chilli during the last several weeks. As the importers did not import sufficient quantity of chilli last week, the shortage of supply has pushed the price up, they said.
The consumers said the unexpected price hike make the green chilli too hot.
On the other hand, the broiler price has dropped in the market. The white broiler was selling at Tk 120 instead of Tk 130-Tk 135 last week. The price of red chicken also decreased. It was selling at Tk 140 to 150 instead of Tk 180 to 185 last week.
The egg price also found stable in markets. The per dozen of egg was selling at Tk 75 to 80 in markets on Friday.
The rice price was stable in nearly same stage. The consumers gain little from different initiatives taken by the government to decrease rice price. The price of low quality rice has decreased by Tk 1 to Tk 2 per kg. But the price of standard quality rice did not decrease.
Miniket rice was selling at Tk 55 to Tk 60 per kg, Najirshail at Tk 60 to 65, while Jeerashail, Paijam and Lata at Tk 59-Tk 60 per kg on Friday. Medium quality of Brridhan-28 and
Lota were sold at Tk 52-55 per kg. Different types of coarse rice like Swarna were selling at Tk 50. Similarly, the hybrid quality was selling at Tk 48-Tk 50 per kg.
The wholesale price of rice was also stable in Babubazar, Badamtoli, Mohammadpur Krishi Market, Malibagh, Karwan Bazar, Moulvibazar, Shantinagar and Fakirapool wholesale markets yesterday, according to traders.
The vegetable prices did not decreased though different types of winter vegetable were coming advance in markets. Potato was selling at Tk 18 to 20 per kg, tomato at Tk 100 to 120 a kg, okra at Tk 50-60, parwal at Tk 50, brinjal at Tk 50 to 60, raddish at Tk 50, arum at Tk 40, snake gourd at Tk 50, bitter gourd at Tk 50 to 60, bottle gourd at Tk 30 to 40, teasel gourd at Tk 60, ash gourd at Tk 30 to 40 per piece, french beans at Tk 60-70, carrot at Tk 80, cucumber at Tk 30 to 40, pumpkin (medium size) at Tk 30 to 40 per piece, balsam apple at Tk 50- 60, green papaya at Tk 25, cauliflower at Tk 40, coriander leaves at Tk 400 per kg, capsicum (red) at Tk 470 per kg and capsicum (green) at Tk 300 per kg. Lemon was selling at Tk 7 to Tk 8 per piece.
Locally produced onion was sold at Tk 45 while the imported variety at Tk 50 to 55 a kg in the city markets yesterday. Garlic was selling at Tk 100 to 120 a kg and ginger at Tk 100 to 120 a kg.
Of fishes, Shing and Magur at Tk 450-Tk 800 per kg and Shoul at Tk 350 -450, Pabda at Tk 500-Tk 550, sheat (boal) at Tk 450 to 500, Golsha at Tk 400-500, Tengra at Tk 400-450 per kg, Aire fish at Tk 450 to 650, and Baila at Tk 400 to 550 per kg in the city markets.
Of other fishes, Koi (river) was selling at Tk 600 per kg, Koi (pond) at Tk 200 to Tk 250, Butter fish at Tk 300 to 350, lobster at Tk 450 to 600, shrimp (River) at Tk 350 to 400, puti at Tk 250 to 450, cultivated koi at Tk 150 to 180, Rupchanda at Tk 900 to 1100, coral fish at Tk 450 to 600, river Pangas at Tk 350, cultivated Pangas at Tk 140, Rajputi at Tk 300 and Telapia at Tk 150 to Tk 200, lata fish at Tk 250 to 350, Eel at Tk 450 to 550 and batashi at Tk 400 to 500 per kg.
