The price of green chilli is high in the air with Tk 200 per kg in the capital’s kitchen markets. On the other hand, the fish market is appeasing the customers as the hilsha fish is being sold at lower price than last year by Tk 300 or more.
Moreover, the prices of other vegetables remain stable along with other commodities such as chicken, eggs and beef.
After visiting few kitchen markets in the capital it was seen that per kg green chilli is being sold at Tk 200 or more.
Karwan bazaar vegetables trader Md Ataur said that the flood had severely damaged the production of green chilli. As a result it has contributed to raise the price of the green chilli.
Md Ataur also predicted that the rising trend will continue for few days.
Furthermore, the availability of Hilsha fish in the market is greeted by the consumers. In the market one kg weight Hilsha fish is being sold at Tk 1,200 to Tk 1,300 whereas one week earlier it was Tk 1, 400 to Tk 1, 600.
And 700-800 gram Hilsha is being sold at Tk 700-800 and 400-500 gram at Tk 450-500 while one week ago they were at Tk 900-1,000 and Tk 600-700 respectively.
The traders are selling chicken per kg at Tk 150 (Broiler) and Tk 260 to Tk 280 (Pakistani Cock). The traders are selling per dozen eggs at Tk 125 whereas one week earlier it was Tk 120.
The vegetables market scenario is that few vegetables price have been decreased. In the list those are carrot, cucumber, tomato, French.
Before Eid ul Azha carrot was selling at Tk 180-200, cucumber at Tk 90-100, tomato at Tk 140-160, and now they are selling at Tk 130-140, Tk 40-50 and Tk 80-100 respectively.
In the vegetables market, the brinjal is being sold at Tk 50-60, cucarbitaceous at Tk 50-70, green papaya at Tk 30-40, parble at Tk 20-30, ladies figure at Tk 40-50.
Few vegetables’ price has remained stable. They are spone gourd, snake gourd.
Besides, shrimp sells at Tk 600-650 only. The cat fish was selling at Tk 400 to 450 at Baganbari, South Goran on Friday, taki mach at Tk 350, Papda at Tk 400 and boal machh at Tk 600 only.
