AP, Athens :
Finland escaped with a 1-1 home draw against Greece in European Championship qualifying on Saturday.
Nikos Karelis opened the scoring in the 24th with a powerful curving shot from outside the area, but Finland leveled thanks to Jarkko Hurme’s volley in the 55th.
The draw, and Hungary’s 1-1 draw at Romania, allowed Northern Ireland, 2-0 winner against Faroe Islands, to jump into the lead of Group F after two games. Finland and Romania are two points behind, Hungary and Greece notched their first points, and the Faroes remain pointless.
