Two-time Olympic gold medalist Grant Hackett qualified for his sixth world championship team when he was among 38 Australian swimmers named for the July titles in Kazan, Russia.
James Magnussen, Cate Campbell and Christian Sprenger will have the opportunity to defend their world titles after the team was named Friday following the conclusion of the eight-day national titles in Sydney.
Sprenger earned a spot in the 100-meter breaststroke due to selectors’ discretionary powers after he sustained a shoulder injury.
