Exciting fireworks will color the Dhaka skyline in the closing ceremony of the Hero Asia Cup Hockey that is scheduled to start at Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium from October 11, said a Bangladesh Hockey Federation press release on Monday.
The Minister for Planning A.H.M Mustafa Kamal will be the chief guest on the opening ceremony of the meet while Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to be the chief guest in the closing ceremony.
These facts were revealed in a presser held at the stadium on Monday. Mamunur Rashid, the secretary of the tournament committee said the electronic scoreboard will be operational within two or three days.
“The framework has been completed and the installation process will require two days, we hope to see it fully functional as soon as possible” said Mamun.
Mamun also informed that all the teams will reach Dhaka on October 8. The officials of the Asian Hockey Federation along with the CEO will arrive at Dhaka on October 6.
Japan will reside in the Sonargaon Hotel while Bangladesh China and Korea will lodge in Hotel Purbani. India Pakistan and Malaysia and Oman will board at Fars Hotel.
Shafiullah Al Munir, the chairman of the tournament committee said exciting fireworks will be illuminating the closing ceremony. “The opening ceremony will be a just a formal and normal program but we have chalked out a lavish closing ceremony with the presence of honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the first part of the closing ceremony will showcase the culture and history of Bangladesh.
The second part will be displaying the culture of the other participants and the curtain will fall down with exciting fireworks around the stadium. We have chalked out the program in a wide angle vision” said Munir.
The tournament committee has also taken the initiatives to host two souvenir shops during the tourney.
It was also revealed that near 30 foreign journalists has requested for the accreditation. BHF general secretary Abdus Sadeque, the vice presidents Khawja Rahmatullah and Abdur Rashid Sikder and Shahjahan Basunia, the official of sponsors First Security Islami Bank were also present on the occasion.
