Grameenphone holds 17th AGM

The 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Grameenphone Ltd. was concluded at the Basundhara Convention Center on Wednesday. The AGM approves 50percent cash dividend for its shareholders for the year 2013.
Earlier, the company paid 90percent interim during 2013. The total cash dividend stood at 140percent of the paid-up capital (i.e. BDT 14 per share) for the year 2013.
Chairman of Grameenphone Board Sigve Brekke and CEO Vivek Sood were present on the occasion along with the other Board members, and senior officials of the company. The AGM was conducted by the Company Secretary, Hossain Sadat.
The Chairman thanked the shareholders for their trust on the company and briefly talked about growth potential in Bangladesh telecom sector, regulatory uncertainties, Grameenphone’s ambition to provide Internet for All etc., while the CEO mainly highlighted the operational & financial performance of the company and successful 3G rollout in their respective speeches.
