Staff Reporter :A graft case was filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday against Syeda Hasina Mannan, wife of former State Minister Abdul Mannan Khan, on charge of concealing information in her wealth statement submitted to the Commission and for amassing wealth beyond her known sources of income. ACC Deputy Director Mohammad Nasir Uddin lodged the case with Ramna Model Police Station, Public Relation Officer (PRO) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told The New Nation. The case study says, Syeda Hasina concealed information on an amount of Tk 1.86 crore in her wealth statement. Besides, the Commission dug out the wealth in her name of Tk 3.45 crore.She, moreover, could not show legal sources of income.On September 9, the anti-graft body gave the approval of filing the case. ACC Deputy Director Nasir Uddin collected information and documents from the Joint Stock Company, district registrar offices, NBR, BRTA, RAJUK, BSCIC, REHAB, banks and insurance companies and from spot visit. On March 18, the Commission sent a notice to Mannan Khan and his wife asking them to submit their wealth statements. ACC filed a case with Ramna Thana against Mannan Khan on August 21 for concealing information and amassing huge wealth amounting to Tk 79 lakh beyond his known sources of income.
