GPA-5 increases in Sylhet Board

Percentage of pass and holders of highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations increased in Sylhet Board this year. The pass rate was 89.23 per cent. At least 3341 students achieved GPA-5 this year. Sylhet Education Board source said, 68085 candidates took part and 60750 came out successful in this year’s SSC examinations. From Science Group, 11858 students out of 12692 succeeded with 91.64 per cent pass rate. A total 2822 examinees achieved GPA-5 from this group. In Humanities Group, a total 48234 students took part in the examinations and 42,410 examinees have been succeeded with the pass rate 87.93 per cent while 234 students achieved GPA-5 from this group this year. A total 6755 students out of 7209 came out successful from Business Studies Group with the pass rate 93.70 per cent and total 287 students achieved GPA-5 from this group. Among the total of GPA-5 holders under the Sylhet Board, 1732 students were male and 1609 were female students.
Among those succeeded students, a total 16694 students achieved A Grade, 14362 A Minus (A-), 13723 students achieved B grade, 12000 students got C and 630 examinees got D grade in this year’s SSC examination under the Sylhet Board.
Male students were advanced than female students in Sylhet Board this year. A total 27399 male students out of 30174 passed this year with the rate 90.80 per cent while a total 33351 female students out 37911 passed with the rate 87.97 per cent this year under the board.
