Percentage of Secondary School Certificate examination of 2019 under Barishal Education Board has slightly improved by increasing GPA-5 than previous year.
Two schools scored zero-pass rate, which was three last year.
It was said by Prof. Anowerul Azim, BEB controller of examination in press briefing held at his office Monday morning.
In 2019 the percentage of pass in SSC under this board became 77.41 including 4,189 GPA-5.
This year 82,535 examinees out of 106,621 examinees appeared from 1427 institutions under 176 examination centers passed SSC under Barishal Education Board.
In 2018 the pass rate was 77.11 with 3,462 GPA-5 out of 103,124 examinees appeared and three school scored zero percent in that year.
This year 2 schools ( Shashivushan Girls School with 9 examinees of Bhola and Charganga Adarsha School of Patuakhali district with 34 examinees), scored zero-percent pass rate out of 1,427 schools under this board, said Prof. Anowerul Azim, controller of examination Barishal Education Board after disclosing the result. This year cent-percent examinees passed SSC from 50 institutions which was the same in 2018, informed Prof. Anowerul Azim, controller of examinations BEB.
Girls , Science Group done better : After publishing the secondary school certificate examination 2019 result of Barishal Education Board it was learnt that girls and Science Group examinees done better in SSC 2019 from Barishal Education Board like the previous years.
Prof. Anwarul Azim, controller of examination of BEB, disclosing these facts said total 43,397(80.33 percent) female examinees, out of 54, 022 appeared female examinees passed with 2,217 ( out of total 4,189) GPA-5.
It was 40,469(79.02 percent) female examinees, out of 51, 212 appeared female examinees passed with 1801 ( out of total 3,462) GPA-5 in 2018.
In the year of 2017 total 36,967 (79.82 percent) out of 46,315 appeared female examinees passed SSC with 1,255 GPA-5 from Barishal Board. On other hand in group-wise result science group done better than other groups as 25,965 (91.23 percent) out of 28,462 appeared examinees of science group passed SSC 2019 with 3,752 GPA-5.
However 19,754 (79.37 percent) out of 24,888 examinees from business studies group with 180 GPA-5 passed SSC 2019. From humanities group 36,816 (69.11 percent ) out of 53,271 appeared examinees passed SSC 2018 with 257 GPA-5 from BEB.
Total 97 examinees including 31 from science, 44 from humanities and 22 from business studies groups were expelled for adopting unfair means in the SSC examination 2019, the examination controller of the board added.

Sylhet education board fell at the bottom of this year’s SSC and equivalent examination results in terms of pass rate and obtaining GPA-5, according to the results published here yesterday.
Pass rate of Sylhet board is 70.83 and a total of 2757 students secured the highest grade point average (GPA)-5.
The board also got the lowest position in terms of pass rate in last year with 70.42 pc pass rate.
In terms of pass rate, Rajshahi education board secured top position with 91.64 percent pass rate, while it is 79.62 percent in Dhaka Board, 90.88 percent in Jashore Board, 84.10 percent in Dinajpur Board, 78.11 percent in Chattogram Board, 77.41 percent in Barishal, 87.16 percent in Cumillla Board, 83.03 percent in Madrasah Board and 72.24 percent in Technical education board.
