Awami League Presidium Member and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain said that the achievements of the present government would be projected before the people in the national council of the ruling party.
“Bangladesh will reach its expected destination well ahead of the stipulated period as the country has been marching ahead under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.
Engineer Mosharraf Hossain said this on Friday while talking to reporters when he paid a visit to the venue of the 20th national council of Awami League (AL) at Suhrawardy Udyan in the city.
Convener of the Dias and Decoration Sub-committee and AL Joint General Secretary Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, member-secretary of the sub-committee and State Minister for Jute and Textiles Mirza Azam, Awami Swechchhasebak League General Secretary Pankaj Debnath, AL Central Working Committee member Sujit Roy Nandi, former General Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Ishaque Ali Khan Panna, former BCL Presidents Bahadur Bepari, Liaquat Shikdar and Mahmud Hasan Ripon and former General Secretary Mahfuzul Haider Chowdhury Raton were present, among others.
Disclosing that Taka 129 crore has been allocated for development of Suhrawardy Udyan, the minister said that BNP founder Ziaur Rahman erected Shishu Park at Suhrawardy Udyan to erase off the memories of the country’s great War of Liberation.
He said that the spot of the historic independence speech of Bangabandhu delivered on March 7 in 1971 and the place where the occupation Pakistan forces surrendered on March 16 the same year had already been identified.
“Initiatives would be taken so that the visiting children to Shishu Park could also visit the historic spots and the Glass Tower in the Udyan and the National Museum,” Engineer Mosarraf Hossain added.
