Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor has said the present government puts maximum priority on improving road communication and power sectors to change fortune of the common people.
“Developed road communication always brings economic freedom to the common people while improved power sector paves the way to change their fortune by them at their own desired speed,” Noor said.
He said this while addressing a ceremony arranged on Chapra Saramjani Government Primary School premises marking carpeting works launching of 2.30-kilometre long road from Etapeer to Chapra Katchari points under Sadar upazila in Nilphamari district yesterday afternoon.
Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) has been implementing construction of the 10-feet width road carpeting works at a cost of Taka 1.19 crore.
Asaduzzaman Noor said the present government, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has already completed massive development works to bring smile in the faces of the 16 crore common people.
“An export processing zone (EPZ) has already been established in Nilphamari where many industries and factories have been set up creating employments for 26,000 people,” he said.
He said all these became possible at Nilphamari EPZ centering the laudable successes achieved so far by the present government in the communication and power sectors.
An economic zone and a medical college will be set up in Nilphamari where more development works will be conducted in phases in future,” he said.
With Chairman of Chapra Saramjani union Khalilur Rahman in the chair, President of Nilphamari district Awami League (AL) Dewan Kamal Ahmed, Organising Secretary Hafizur Rashid, Sadar upazila Chairman Abuzar Rahman, Executive Engineer of LGED Belal Hossain, addressed the ceremony, among others.
