Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Dr Abul Bashar Mohammed Khurshid Alam said the government has been working relentlessly to fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) since the pandemic began.
“The government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is pledged to ensure test, isolate and treatment to contain the virus spread,” he said while visiting Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) and holding a meeting with its people here on Sunday. Prof Khurshid urged the doctors, nurses and others concerned to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to deliver better services to the patients for their early recovery. “We’re doing homework intensively to get vaccines for COVID-19 and Bangladesh will get the vaccine soon after its invention,” he said, adding that he will try to do better amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
DGHS Director (Hospital and Clinic) Farid Hossain Mian, Principal of Rajshahi Medical College Prof Nawshad Ali, Divisional Director of Health Dr Gopendra Nath Acharya and RMCH Director Brig Gen Jamilur Rahman were present on the occasion.
