Govt working to provide urban amenities in rural areas: Tajul

Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Tajul Islam said the incumbent government is working relentlessly to create entrepreneurship and expand urban facilities in rural areas.
“The present government is working to create entrepreneurship and expand urban facilities at rural level for the fulfillment of developed Bangladesh,” he said.
The minister said this on Wednesday while addressing the inaugural session of a workshop on creating young entrepreneurs. The workshop was held in city’s CIRDAPauditorium.
Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) and Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID) jointly organised the event. He said the necessity of spreading internet and information technology services to the grassroots level is very important to create new entrepreneurs and self-employment opportunities.

Talukder in the chair, the workshop was addressed, among others, by the State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak,
Director General of BARD Dr M Mizanur Rahman and BIID Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shahid Uddin Akbar.
Palak said talent and technology based employment should be created for the educated people by bringing all under digital services. He also sought the cooperation of LGRD and Cooperative Ministry to introduce digital centre each upazila.
