Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the government is relentlessly working to improve the quality of education aiming at creating skilled manpower in the country.
“Improving the quality of education is a big challenge for Bangladesh. So we all have to work together to enhance the quality of education,” he told this on Thursday at a workshop on “Institutional Self Assessment Summer-ISAS report-2014 for secondary level educational institutions in the seminar room of National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) here.
Education Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan and senior officials of the ministry, among others, addressed the workshop with Director General of Secondary and High Secondary Education Prof Fahima Khatun in the chair.
Nahid said the country has witnessed a considerable progress in the education sector due to various time-befitting initiatives taken by the present government.
“Despite resource constraint, we have achieved a good progress in different indicators of education including student enrolment, checking drop-out rate and removing gender inequality, which have been praised globally,” he added.
Every member of education sector should evaluate his/her work through self-assessment as part of discharging professional duties, Nahid said adding practices of self-assessment among the members of the education sector will eventually help them to perform duties properly.
