UNB, Dhaka :
BNP on Wednesday alleged that the government is using law enforcers to implement its ‘evil design’ to annihilate ‘opposition parties’.
In a statement, party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “The government is implementing its evil strategy to politically harass and intimidate opposition leaders and activists and eliminate the opposition parties by law enforcers.” The statement was issued protesting and condemning the law enforcers’ raid on Swechchhasebak Dal president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel’s residence.
Fakhrul said, the country’s people have now no security of their lives and property due to sharp
deterioration in law and order. “Observing the overall situation, it seems that the entire country has turned into a police state. It’s also manifested through various activities of the police,” he observed.
The BNP secretary general said law enforcers in the name of raid on Sohel’s residence yesterday morning carried out terror acts, demonstrating the government’s vindictive attitude.
He called upon people from all strata to get united against the government’s ‘unethical, inhuman and brutal’ activities. “People’s united resistance will surely end repression and misrule.”
