Govt urged to take steps against terrorism

Jongibad O Sontras Birodhi Ulema Parishad (Ulemas’ Organisation for Anti-Militant and Terrorism) has urged the Prime Minister to take a motivation programme to resist terrorism and militancy from the country.
The organisation made the urge at a memorandum submitted to the PM. Signed by convener of the organisation Mostofa Anwar Khan, the memorandum was submitted to the PM’s office recently. Receiving No of the memorandum- 7398.
Mostofa Anwar Khan said that if the government includes ulema-mashayekhs of the country to suppress the terrorism and militancy alongside with law enforcing agencies, it would bring an effective result. He also urged for enacting law in this regard.
He also said that they placed a proposal about the proposed motivation programme. The government should form 10-member motivation committee in all the 489 upazilas of the country with ulema-mashayekhs. The committee will conduct awareness programme in mosques, madrasahs and villages against the militancy and the terrorism. The committee will be formed for two years, according to him.
