Lawmakers urged the government to resist the anti-liberation forces as those vested quarters had not only killed the Father of the Nation but still are also being involved with various anti-state activities.
The anti-liberation forces like BNP-Jammat are closely related with the mayhem of August 15 in 1975 and they are still hatching conspiracy to thwart the development of the country by taking resort to conspiracy of killing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina several times, they said.
The treasury bench lawmakers made this demand on Wednesday while another treasury bench lawmaker R. A. M. Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury of Brahmanbaria-3 raised a proposal on general discussion under section 147(1) of the rules of procedure at the Jatiya Sangsad, reports BSS.
Participating in the discussion, treasury bench lawmaker Mostafizur Rahman of Dinajpur-5 said “It is unfortunate that we are doing politics with the anti-liberation forces while those vested quarters are still giving threat to stage another incident like August 15.”
He urged the government to ban the anti-liberation forces like BNP-Jammat who had close association with the killers.
Calling upon the government to resist the BNP-Jammat, Tanvir Shakil Joy of Sirajganj-1 said the government must have to take necessary action against the parties as BNP founder Ziaur Rahman had directly linked with the massacre of August 15.
Paying rich tribute to the martyrs of August 15 carnage, Liberation Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq said the government must have to form a commission to unmask those who had close connection with the massacre.
Referring to grenade attack on Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina on August 4, 2004, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said the anti-liberation forces are continuously trying to kill the incumbent Prime Minister.
The minister, however, announced in the parliament to form a commission by December 31 as the commission will give a through report on those who were behind the killing of Bangabandhu and his family members.
Terming BNP founder Ziaur Rahman as the mastermind of the Bangabandhu killing,Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim MP said “the conspiracy is yet to stop and the anti-liberation forces are still being involved in conspiracy, adding “those anti-liberation forces are still trying to turn the country into a “mini-Pakistan”.
Welcoming the announcement of forming commission to unmask the conspirators,Amir Hossain Amu said “we hope that the commission will help us to identify all the conspirators who are constantly being involved with all the tragic events including the assassination of Bangabandhu.”
To stop the recurrence of conspiracy, Nurul Islam Nahid MP said “it is high time to unearth the key conspirators of the Bangabandhu killing as the effort will make the country free from vulnerability and reach the country to its desired goal.
The lawmakers including State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Begum Matia Chowdhury, Tofail Ahmed, Abul Kalam Azad, Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali, ABM Tajul Islam, Amirul Alam Milon, Abdus Sobhan Mia, Simin Hossain Rimi, Deputy Leader of the opposition Golam Mohammad Quader, Jatiya Party chief Whip Mashiur Rahman Ranga, Mujibul Huq, Kazi Feroz Rashid, Anisul Islam Mahmud and workers party president Rashed Khan Menon,also participated in the discussion.
