Govt to set up national judicial academy at Shibchar

Staff Reporter:Government is planning to set up a national judicial academy at Shibchar upazila in Madaripur in order to provide training to the judges, said Law Minister Anisul Huq on Friday.
The minister said,“Judiciary is independent now. Trainings for the judges are very important for institutionalising the independence of judiciary. Therefore, a national judicial academy will be set up in the upazila upon the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
The law minister said this while talking to reporters after visiting the probable locations in the upazila for setting up the academy.
Minister Anisul Huq said Shibchar upazila is situated on the bank of Padma River and the place will be turned into a very significant place in the country after the construction of the Padma Bridge.
“To ensure access to justice for the general people, the government will also set up a “Chouki Adalat” in the upazila,” the minister said.
