The government will re-brand Teletalk with a view to making it profitable. We have taken the decision to get the state-run mobile-phone operator, reeling under a loss of around Tk 4 billion, back on its own feet, said State Minister for Telecom Tarana Halim.
Teletalk is going to re-brand modernize by February 2016 with a new logo, website, packages and a modern complaints system for making the brand attractive to users.
Private mobile operators spend large amounts of money on branding, but Teletalk has never done so, Tarana Halim said, adding: “A lack of a brand image is a major weakness of Teletalk, and we must rectify it.”
Teletalk will get a room at every post office as part of the re-branding, the state minister for posts and telecommunications said.
She was answering to a supplementary question in Parliament on Thursday.
