BSS, Sangsad Bhaban :
The government has a plan to restart all the closed mills under the Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation (BTMC) for rehabilitating the jobless workers.
Textiles and Jute Minister Muhammad Imaz Uddin Pramanik told this in the Jatiya Sangsad on Tuesday while replying to a query from treasury bench lawmaker M Abdul Latif of Chittagong-11.
The minister said work on the process of re-launching the closed textiles mill under local-foreign joint ventures or public private partnership (PPP) programme is going on. The country now has 26 jute mills under Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) and all the mills are now operating, he added.
