Govt to increase FFs allowance

BSS, Mymensingh :Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, MP, said that the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been implementing massive welfare oriented programme for the freedom fighters considering their valuable contribution and sacrifice during the liberation war in 1971.The minister said this while addressing as chief guest at a seminar on “Motivation of the new generation about the spirit of liberation war” at Haluaghat Model High School premises yesterday. Upazila commander Kabirul Islam Beg presided.Haluaghat upazila Muktijuddah Sangsad organised the seminar in cooperation with the district command of Muktijuddah Sangsad. District Commander Anwar Hossen delivered his well-come speech and Deputy Commander Harun-ar-Rashid presented a keynote paper in the seminar.It was addressed, among others, by State Minister for Social welfare Advocate Promod Mankin, MP, Deputy Commissioner Mostakim Billah Faroqui, Police Super Mainul Haque, Upazila Chairman Faruque Ahamed Khan, UNO Abdul Awal and president of district motor owners association Momtaz Uddin. Mozammel Haque said the government would increase the monthly allowance of freedom fighters from Taka five thousand to 10 thousand from next July of 2015. Besides, the government will complete the final list of genuine freedom fighters on December 16 this year and distribute the certificates on March 26, 2015, said the minister.He laid emphasis to uphold the true history of liberation war before the new generation.The minister urged the freedom fighters to be more alert about the conspiracies against the country’s sovereignty by anti-liberation forces. He also urged them to work for building Sonar Bangla as dreamt by the Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.Earlier, the minister inaugurated Muktijuddah based photo exhibition organised by AlokChitra Shelpeee Sangsad and MuktiJuddah Sangsad.
