Govt to increase allocation for Cochlear implant

Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed said the government will increase allocation for Cochlear implant for the deaf people helping them lead a normal life.
He said the government would increase allocation for Cochlear implant to eliminate hearing impediment of the hearing impaired people.
He stated this on Sunday while addressing a Cochlear implant allotment distribution programme among hearing impaired children as chief guest at M Shamsul Haque auditorium at the Combined Military Hospital in the city.
Nuruzzaman said the government has a plan to expand the service at large hospitals across the country.
Senior Social Welfare Secretary Zuena Aziz, Director General of Military Medical Services Maj. Gen. M Fasiur Rahman, Area Commander (Logistics) Maj. Gen. SM Shafiuddin Ahmed and Bangladesh Army Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Mohammad Humayun Kabir also spoke, among others, on the occasion.
