‘Govt to help import raw materials’

The Department of Pharmacy of the East West University arranged a seminar on “Manufacturing, Regulations and Marketing of Pharmaceuticals: Prospects and Challenges” on April 30, 2015 at Aftabnagar. Mohammed Nasim, M. P., Minister of the Health and Family Welfare, and Syed Monjurul Islam, Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare and the President of the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh, were present as the chief guest and the special guest respectively on the occasion.
While addressing Nasim mentioned that Bangladesh government will help in importing raw materials and other machineries as needed in the process.
Syed Monjurul Islam praised the pharmaceutical sector’s excellent growth in the country and abroad market. Mr. M Mosaddek Hossain, Managing Director of UniMed and Unihealth Ltd. and Prof. A.B.M. Faroque of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Dhaka, were present as the designated discussants of the seminar.
The Vice Chancellor of East West University, Prof. Ahmed Shaee, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson, Board of Trustees, Founder Vice Chancellor of East West University and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, expressed the vote of thanks to the honorable Minister, the Secretary, the Resource persons of the symposium, all distinguished guests, faculty members of Pharmacy and non teaching officers and staffs of the university. Chairperson of the Department of Pharmacy of East West University, Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Faiz Hossain was the moderator of the seminar.
