Housing and Public Works Minister Eng Mosharraf Hossain has said necessary steps would be taken for proper preservation of the parliament complex following collection of the original design of the project by legendary American architect Louis I. Kahn.
“Louis I. Kahn is a world renowned architect. Following the present Prime Minister’s directives, a process is on to collect all the designs of Louis Khan from the Architectural Archive of Pennsylvania
University, USA,” he said Monday in parliament, replying to a starred question from ruling Awami League MP Fazilatun Nesa Bappy (Women Seat-30).
Bappy asked the minister for his ministry’s opinion on the eight graves on the parliament’s premises flouting the original design of Louis Kahn. The minister said a number of people had been buried within the project area on several occasions following the government’s directives.
