Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid categorically said that any particular student or a group of students would require approval from the head of their educational institutions for any visit like education tour or picnic to any far place.
The education ministry would give directives soon in this regard, the minister said on Wednesday while visiting Ahsanullah Science and Technology University.
The minister expressed his condolence for the death students of the varsity at St Martin sea beach recently. He also expressed concern for the students who are missing while five other students sustained serious injuries during the visit to the island.
Nahid met with the teachers including the vice-chancellor of the Ahsanullah Science and Technology University Prof Dr M Shafiullah and discussed the situation about the accident occurred on St Martin beach.
“From now on, any student or a group of students would have to seek approval from the particular head of the institutions before going to such kind of education related travel or picnic to any far or unknown place in the country”, said the minister. The authority would have to inform the local administration about their visit, said the minister adding that the ministry would publish directives soon in this regard.
