The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework will soon be finalized aiming to watch over the implementation progress of SDGs.
Member (Senior Secretary) at the General Economics Division (GED) Dr Shamsul Alam stated this at the opening session of a three-day inter-ministerial consultation workshop on “Developing SDGs Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for Bangladesh” on Monday.
The GED, Planning Commission organised the workshop with the support of Engaging with Institutions (EI), IP Project, UNDP Bangladesh at BRAC CDM in Rajendrapur to analyze the draft framework, determine sources data and gather feedback from the relevant stakeholders in finalizing the M&E framework.
“Developing a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework for SDGs implementation is under process. A draft has already been prepared in consultation with the relevant ministries, divisions, agencies and institutions and it will soon be finalized,” said Alam.
He said the draft would be placed before the National Committee on SDGs Implementation and Monitoring headed by the Principal Coordinator (SDGs Affairs), Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for approval.
A total of 55 participants from relevant government ministries, divisions, agencies, institutions, public institutions and members of UN Data group took part in the workshop.
